WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED?
When a bicycle is locked with a traditional lock, a professional thief can often steal it in seconds. In Europe, a bicycle is stolen approximately every 10 seconds. This is costly and inconvenient for both the bicycle owner, society, and insurance companies.

WHAT WAS THE SOLUTION?
Inspired by car immobilizers, PentaLock developed an integrated bicycle lock which sits within the bike's crank and is particularly suited for electric bikes. The lock is an inseparable part of the bicycle and is impossible to remove without damaging the bike, thereby rendering it unusable and unsellable. The lock activates automatically when the bicycle is parked. In case of theft attempts, the built-in sound alarm is activated simultaneously, and the bike's electrical system shuts down, making it impossible to ride away with the bike.

HOW DOES YOUR INNOVATION MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
PentaLock effectively protects the owner against theft and offers a higher degree of security and user-friendliness than traditional locks. The solution encourages more people to choose bicycles as a means of transportation and contributes to a more sustainable transport culture in cities.

WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
Being the first on the market to integrate lock/alarm/immobilizer in electric bikes, thereby eliminating the many bicycle thefts that occur every day. By 2025, we already have orders for 15,000 locks, and several bicycle brands are beginning to integrate our revolutionary system into their models. Thus, we truly see our solution taking off.
