Entrepreneurs in Residence at Aalborg University

The Entrepreneurs in Residence Corps (EIRC) is a special setup for AAU student startups, who have completed the AAU Startup Program. To qualify for EIRC, startups must actively engage in co-creating the AAU incubation community. In return, the startups benefit from the facilities and resources at AAU INNOVATE.

The Entrepreneurs in Residence Corps (EIRC) is a special setup for AAU student startups, who have completed the AAU Startup Program. To qualify for EIRC, startups must actively engage in co-creating the AAU incubation community. In return, the startups benefit from the facilities and resources at AAU INNOVATE.

Who can apply for the Entrepreneur in Residence Corps?

Upon completion of the AAU Startup Program, AAU startups can apply for the EIRC and continue developing their startup at AAU INNOVATE. To qualify for the Entrepreneur in Residence Corps, startups must meet the following requirements:

  • You and your startup must be in phase three of the AAU Startup Program at the time of application or have completed it within the last 3 months.
  • You and your startup must be actively engaged in AAU’s Incubation Environment at AAU INNOVATE.
  • You and your startup must attend the application pitch session. You will receive a separate schedule for your pitch presentation upon registration.
  • You and your startup must attend the KickOff for the Entrepreneur in Residence corps. You will receive a separate schedule for the KickOff upon your admission into the corps.

All AAU startups that are eligible to apply for the Entrepreneur in Residence Corps will receive direct notification about the application procedure before the deadline.

The Entrepreneurs in Residence Corps

Startup teams in the EIRC can benefit from the following

  • Access to AAU INNOVATE and an allocated office space in the building.
  • Sparring from a designated AAU Business Coach.
  • Access to events and activities in the AAU startup community and sparring from mentors of the AAU Startup Program's mentor network.

Framework for the Entrepreneur in Residence Corps

  1. Applicants must be founders/co-founders and have completed a stay in AAU's startup program (18 months) within the last 3 months and an active part of AAU's Incubation Environment - or already part of the Entrepreneur in Residence corps at the time of application.
  2. The applicant must be willing to contribute positively to the culture-creating work in and around the AAU startup community.
  3. At the time of application, your startup must primarily be in the development phase rather than the operational phase. Your application pitch must include a timeline with clear milestones and an indication of "time to market".
  4. The team must demonstrate diversity in its composition or, at a minimum, plan for it in the onboarding of the next co-founder.
  5. The framework for participation in the Entrepreneur in Residence corps is agreed for 6 months at a time, with the possibility of extension.
